Rotary Park and the Sunset Palliative Care Memory Garden will be getting a little bit of a spring clean Wednesday night thanks to an impromptu clean up hosted by Royal Bank of Canada (RBC), the Portage Rotary Club, and Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Guy Moffat, branch manager of the RBC Portage location, said the Portage Rotary Club got involved with the project after it was decided that Rotary Park would be one of the locations to be cleaned up.
"Ultimately what's going to happen is there is going to be 20 plus volunteers out tomorrow night. The plan is going to be to rake the entire area including the park and the memorial garden. We're going to be taking a look at the playground equipment and anything that needs to be done such as graffiti removal we will be letting Dave Green know about that," said Moffat.
The City of Portage will also be involved with the project as they are donating the equipment, which volunteers will be using.
Clean up begins at Rotary Park at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
